Brian Doyle, Economic Development Specialist

Brian has over 20 years experience in economic development in Maine and is passionate about bringing his talent, energy, and determination to helping Lewiston businesses grow and thrive. He works one-on-one with principals and managers to help manage projects and solve problems. Prior to working with the City, Brian was Economic Development Director in Thomaston, Maine, a Business Development Specialist with Maine Economic and Community Development Department, and has experience as an administrator in higher education. He is a graduate of the University of Maine.

Nate Libby, Director of Economic & Community Development

Nate is passionate about developing the City’s opportunities and addressing its challenges. As the City’s lead contact for investors, entrepreneurs, developers, and organizational leaders, Nate works hard to be a problem solver, thought partner, and passionate advocate for the City and anyone who wants to invest here. Nate’s work centers on adopting and executing a new economic development strategy, supporting continued downtown revitalization, attracting new business investment, and enhancing quality of life for all Lewiston residents.

Prior to his work at the City, Nate served as Senate Majority Leader in the Maine Senate, President of Community Concepts Finance Corporation and President of Community Concepts Housing Development, and a self-employed economic development consultant. A Maine native, he earned an MBA from the University of Southern Maine and a bachelor’s degree from Bates College.

Viany Selengbe, Economic Development Specialist

Viany Selengbe is an Economic Development Specialist dedicated to revitalizing Lewiston by supporting small businesses and underserved communities. With nearly a decade of experience in strategic planning, research, and community initiatives, Viany collaborates with stakeholders to attract investment, improve infrastructure, and foster workforce development.

Previously a Research Development Specialist, Viany has worked to leverage data-driven strategies to secure funding for numerous impactful projects. Armed with a Business Communication degree from the University of Maine Orono, Viany excels in program implementation and cross-sector collaboration.
